Aon Center | (Los Angeles, CA)
Aon Center is a mid century modern office skyscraper located in downtown Los Angeles, California. Completed in 1973, it is the second-tallest building in Los Angeles at 858 feet, and has 62 floors. Designed by Charles Luckman, it is a rectangular black building with a white border, and a remarkably slender form for a skyscraper in a seismically-active area.
In 2009, Spectra Company worked with D7 Consulting to restore the complete exterior aluminum panels and window mullions. The most famous "mid-century" modern Hi-Rise in Los Angeles was restored to its original condition. Aluminum panels and mullions are common in modernist architecture. Oftentimes owners are unaware that they can be restored. Spectra has the craft and product technology that can clean, restore and seal these surfaces to their original condition.
